SCRIPTURE: Galatians 1:6-7 "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." INTRODUCTION: We are hearing more and more about Fake News as it relates to the corruption in the main stream media, some in politics have resorted to twitter, bypassing the dishonnest press in order to propagate their message, but the most heinous fake news is that which would "turn the grace of God into laciviousness" and making the gospel one of self effort. PROPOSITION: To use this text and others to show why there is fake news concerning salvation, and also to show that the only true news in salvation is that "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." and that anyone who comes to Christ is assured of eternal life because God has promised it to all repentant sinners. 1.) In what way do sinners pervert the gospel of Christ? A. By preaching a counterfeit Jesus that has no power to save, a Jesus who is not God or a Jesus who is not of the seed of Abraham. 2 Corinthians 11:4 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." B. By preaching a gospel that teaches that works will help you get into heaven, the Galatian Church put themselves under certain Old Testament laws and by doing so perverted the true gospel, many cults do the same thing today in spiritual ignorance. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." 2.) Why is there a perverted gospel or fake news regarding the message of Salvation? A. Because Satan is the father of all lies, and through his lies "he decieveth the whole world" in this way he can bring souls to hell and rob them of the opportunity to obtain salvation. Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world..." B. Because mankind is evil by nature he loves the darkness and hates the light and because of this he is willing to believe a temptation over a promise from God. 2 Thessalonians 2:12 "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. C. Because mankind is proud by nature and wants to believe that his filthy rags of righteousness are meritorious. there are millions of religionists who preach that they can mantain, or obtain salvation in this filthy manner. Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" D. Because every sinner justifies his sin or repents of it. but repentance is a hateful word to obstinate sinners and so they seek out means to justify sin, they flatter themselves, and seek out ministers who will tell them that they are Gods special group because they are a part of their particular sect, and by puting an emphasis on their own self efforts they pervert the gospel of Christ. 2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears" E. Because sinners have no desire to glorify God through the only one true gospel which makes Christ their only saviour. their one true desire is to glorify themselves through their own religious works in a display of piety, this is done through their speach, actions, and religious costumes. Sinners create a fake gospel that will agree with this incredible desire to obtain vain glory! Galatians 5:26 "Let us not be desirous of vain glory, one another, envying one another." Philippians 2:3 "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." 3.) What is the only one true gospel? A. The only one true gospel is that Christ who was God in human flesh died a substiutionary death, it was the just for the unjust that he might bring us to God. Christ showed himself as having power over death when he rose from the dead and defeated death.. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 4.) What is the result of receiving the only one true gospel? A. You are born again and become a partaker of the devine nature! 2 Peter 1:4 "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." B. You are made an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. Colossians 1:12 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:" C. You become a partaker of eternal life. John 3:15 "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." D. Your sins are washed away, and forgiven. Daniel 9:9 "To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;" E. You have the joy of knowing that God has chosen you before the foundation of the world and that you are his elect remnant and that he will never cast you out. Ephesians 1:4 "According as he hath CHOSEN us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" Romans 11:5 "Even so then at this present time also there is a REMNANT according to the ELECTION of grace." 1 Thessalonians 1:4 "Knowing, brethren beloved, your ELECTION of God." John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will IN NO WISE CAST OUT." CONCLUSION: Fake news concerning salvation is as old as Cain who offered his works to God but was rejected, and if you offer your works to God no matter how proud you maybe of them you will be rejected as well, God has respect unto no one but Jesus Christ and his righteousness. Romans 11:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."
